It’s 1961, Gary wants to borrow a few bob off his sister Sandy to go dancing at the Town Baths.

He wants her to iron his trousers. He also fancies Keith’s bird – and that’s where the trouble starts.

Full of secrets and poetry, this beautiful funny play is about growing up and moving on. More though, it is about that most delicious of feelings, how we break free and start living a new life.

Storm in the North in association with Action Transport Theatre presents ‘Lightning under their Skirts’, Joy Winkler’s new play with award-winning director Kevin Dyer.

Joy Winkler will perform with Josie Cerise, who is known for her work on children’s television in “Grandpa in my Pocket” on CBeebies and her role as Mini Ha Ha in the BAFTA-nominated “Ha Ha Hairies”. Harvey Robinson will play Gary after rave reviews as Mr. Wolf in ‘Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf’ at Liverpool’s Unity Theatre with Action Transport Theatre.

Includes ‘A Taste of the Sixties’get ready for plenty of fun from the decade!

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
